Tough Week
Tough Week
It happens to every baseball team and every sports team in the country. Teams are going to have bad weeks. What is more important is how do we plan on bouncing back and continue to get back to the winning ways.
The week had a great start as we had a match up against Lancaster Bible on Wednesday. Leading up to the game we had two great days of practice on Monday and Tuesday. We felt super confident going in the game and we knew that we were going to come out with a win.
It was a beautiful day for baseball as we were ready to get the game going and hopefully come out with a win. The game started just as we would have hoped as we jumped out to a quick 1 to nothing lead after the first inning.

The game then went quiet for a few innings as both offenses were held scoreless up until the fourth as they tied the game up at 1 to 1. In the top of the fifth inning Lancaster was able to put one more run on the board as they took the lead 2 to 1.
We needed to come up with a big inning to regain the lead late in the game. Luckily, we got exactly what we needed as we scored 4 runs in the fifth to make the score 6-2. After that we coasted to the win as we pushed across a couple more runs to make the final score 8 to 2.
Now we move on to the rough part of the weekend. A double header against a very talented Mount Aloysius team. We knew that we had our work cut out for us.
Once again the game started just as we would have liked. We plated an early run in the first to quickly grab the lead. Things turned for the worst quickly however as they were able to come back and score 3 runs in the second to take the lead from us with the score at 3 to 1. This would end up being the final score as neither team could score any more runs and we lost the first game 3-1.
The second game did not go any better as Mount Aloysius jumped on us quick. After scoring 4 runs in the first and jumping out to quick 4 to 0 lead. We had to come back strong if we wanted to have any chance of winning.
We were able to hold them off and get a couple of runs to make it 4-2. But we could never take the lead back and we would go on to lose 5-2.
We had a tough week but now it is time to bounce back stronger with our first conference series coming up this week.
